The Sun and the Moon

An international fusion of leading classical musicians, including David Campbell (Vanbrugh Quartet) premièred Michael's clarinet quintet at MusicFest Aberystwyth in July 2005.

Funded by the Arts Council England, the piece is inspired by the magnificent 'Piramides del Sol y de la Luna' at the ancient city of Teotihuacán outside of Mexico City. In conversation Michael and David found that they had both visited the site in recent years and were taken with the imagery that this spectacular setting conjures up.

MusicFest Aberystwyth is an exciting combination Music Festival presenting concerts by an international line-up of artists who, in turn, lead an inspirational summer school programme coaching the next generation of elite musicians.

David Campbell is internationally respected as a clarinet soloist and teacher.
